Terms of use

These terms apply to anyone who plays on Enquetix. Using the site means accepting them. If you don't agree, don't use it.
1. The service
Enquetix is a free online deduction game, with no advertising, published on a personal, non-professional basis by Ombre Mana (see the legal notice). No payment is asked and none is planned to play the daily cases.
2. Availability
The site runs on a personal server, not at a professional host, with Cloudflare as a relay. It is kept up to date on a voluntary, best-effort basis, with no guarantee of availability: it may be down or slow at times (power or internet outage, maintenance, update).
The game may change, be suspended or stop at any time, without notice. As it is free, these outages or this stop give no right to any compensation.
3. Your progress
Your game in progress, your level, your medals, your bonuses and your cards are kept in your browser and, if you created an account, on the server. They are saved as well as possible, but a loss remains possible (cleared browser, server failure). They have no money value and cannot be sold or traded for anything.
4. Account (optional)
An account is only useful to find your progress on another device. Choose a password you don't use anywhere else and keep it to yourself. You can delete your account at any time from the “Save my progress” page. An account used to harm the site (see point 5) may be deleted.
5. What is not allowed
- Disrupting the site or the other players: sending mass requests, using bots, looking for security holes, trying to open the pages reserved for administration.
- Sending, through the “Report a problem” button, insulting, illegal or advertising messages.
- Copying the site's cases, texts or drawings in bulk to publish them elsewhere.
Sharing your result, a link to the site or a screenshot of your game is of course allowed.
6. Content and rights
The cases, characters, texts and illustrations specific to the site belong to its publisher. The drawings of the objects and places come from Twemoji (CC BY 4.0 license) and the interface icons from Lucide (ISC license), as stated in the legal notice. The daily cases are made up; the famous cases are based on public facts whose sources are listed.
7. Liability
The game is provided as is. The publisher does their best for it to work and for the cases to be fair, but cannot guarantee the absence of errors or bugs. To the extent permitted by law, they cannot be held liable for an outage, a loss of progress or a problem coming from your device or your connection. Nothing in these terms removes the rights the law gives you.
Links to other sites are given for information; their content does not depend on Enquetix.
8. Personal data
What the site keeps about you, why and for how long: see the privacy policy. For any request (access, deletion), write to [email protected].
9. Changes
These terms may change, for example if the site changes host or adds a feature. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version; continuing to play after a change means accepting it.
10. Applicable law and contact
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, first write to [email protected] to find an amicable solution; failing that, the competent courts will be those provided for by law.
